\nFollowing the election, Robert Syms has been elected as Member of Parliament for the Poole Constituency with a majority of 7,166 votes. Turnout in the election was 60.86% compared to 71.09% in 1997.
In the Mid-Dorset and North Poole Constituency, Annette Brooke, has been elected as Member of Parliament with a majority of 384 votes. Turnout was 65.74% compared to 75.40% in 1997 \n
