Your Borough Of Poole

Poole Sports Council

Poole Sports Council has been in existence for over 40 years and throughout this time has endeavoured to represent all types of sports and sporting activities within Poole and where possible, help individuals and clubs with information about facilities and grants.

Members meet 4 times a year, with an Annual General Meeting in June. Read the Poole Sports Council constitution, which details their aims and objectives.

If you would like to become a member, or to find out who represents your sport on the local Sports Council, please call 01202 261318 or email: recreation.development@poole.gov.uk.

In conjunction with the Borough of Poole, the Sports Council awards grants to clubs and individuals to assist them in their training and financial costs of attending competitions and events.

For further information about grants, visit our sports grant page and apply for funding, or call 01202 261306.

Poole’s Sports Awards

Poole’s Sports Awards are held each year to celebrate sporting success in Poole. They are hosted by Poole Sports Council and supported by the Borough of Poole and will once again be kindly sponsored by our leisure partners, Everyone Active Leisure Centres.

The 2017 Sports Awards took place on Wednesday 20 September 2017. Congratulations to all of the award winners. The 2018 event is provisionally scheduled for Wednesday 19 September 2018. Nominations will be invited for this in April 2018, and the closing date will be Friday 13 July 2018. Download a Sports Award nomination form, or read more about the Freddie Rowe award.
