Poole Learning Disability Partnership Board

The role of the Poole Learning Disability Partnership Board (LDPB) is to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities in the Poole area by:

  • promoting their independence, choice, rights and inclusion

  • making sure they are treated as equal citizens with access to mainstream services such as health, housing, employment and education

  • making sure outside bodies consult with the LDPB as their main source of information when planning and making decisions that affect the lives of people with learning disabilities.

The Poole LDPB is chaired jointly by Borough of Poole Strategic Director for Adult Social Care and an adult with a learning disability supported by Poole Forum. There are currently 6 adults with a learning disability who take turns to co-chair the meetings.  The LDPB meets every two months.
