Hamworthy Park Play Area is in the process of being refurbished. A new toddler play area was completed in May 2007; additional provision for an older age group is proposed for Spring 2008
Hamworthy Park play area includes a large Paddling Pool and water feature, which is open from Saturday 24th May, including the May bank holiday and half term school holidays.
The pool will then remain open until the end of September.
This new toddler playground is suitable for children up to about 8 years old.
The play equipment at this play area is manufactured and installed to comply with European Standards.
Dog proof fencing has been installed and all items of equipment are provided with a safety surface where required.
To ensure the safety of users, each site is inspected daily. An annual inspection is also carried out by a recognised qualified organisation such as the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) who prepare a safety audit and a report which is used to plan long term maintenance.
The Council is reviewing existing play provision in Poole and will be developing a play strategy to guide future development.
