About this nature reserve

Talbot Heath nature reserve is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, a Special Protection Area, and Special Area of Conservation with Ramsar designation.

This site is part of the Bourne Valley, and is home to a lot of specialised wildlife.

Types of habitat

Mostly lowland heathland with patches of mixed deciduous woodland.

What to see

Sand lizards, Adders, ground-nesting birds, Silver-studded blue butterflies, Stonechats. A diverse range of insects and spiders.

A bronze age barrow. 

Parking

There is limited parking on roads near this reserve.

Dogs

Your dog must be on a short lead during bird breeding, 1 March - 31 July, or when livestock are near.

Remember to keep dogs under close control and to pick up after them.
