This playground was extensively improved as part of the play builder project to provide a range of accessible play items, it was completed and opened on the 16th June 2011 - read more about Playbuilder projects.
The changes included items both within the dog free fenced area a buddy swing, a hip-hop, a roundabout, a new climbing frame, a children's picnic table and seating all supplied by Proludic.
On the outside of the fenced area Proludic also supplied a cable way (zip wire), the challenging sky surf and a range of cyclogym equipment for BMX bikers.
On a separate part of the site some "kick-about" goals for informal football have also been installed.
There is also a separate "Fawns" rebound wall with skills panel, installed following officers of Leisure Services working in partnership with the Safer Neighbourhood Partnership and the Creekmoor Community Association (CCA) to provide this facility.
Work started 9th May 2011 and was completed 4 weeks later. As with previous installations across Poole the wall provides an all-weather surface for football, basketball and cricket practise.
A new "Lightmain" "Upton" youth shelter was installed in June 2012 to replace the old bespoke unit making the area now suitable for children aged 3 to 18+ years old.
The play equipment in this play area was manufactured and installed to comply with current safety standards applying at the time of installation and all items of equipment are provided with a safer surface where required.
The play equipment and the immediate surrounding areas are inspected on a regular basis. An annual inspection is also carried out by an independent qualified organisation that prepares a safety audit and a report to enable the Council to plan long term maintenance and renewal.
The play area is located in the Millfield housing estate off of Northmead Drive and can be accessed by foot from a number of approaches. Car parking is available on a number of local estate roads.
We encourage the use of all our facilities by everyone, please let us know if you have any suggestions on how we could improve this facility for you.
