This playground was improved as part of the first year of the play builder project - read more about the Playbuilder projects. The site was officially opened by Councillor Mike Wilkins on Monday 15 February 2010.
The fenced play area is aimed at children aged between 3 to 14 years of age.
The existing swings were repainted and the "Teacup Twister" and "Freddie the Frog" springer were retained along with the metal balance trail, but a new "Lightning" climbing frame was installed all of this equipment supplied by Wicksteed. A new buddy swing was also installed supplied by Hags-SMP,
The play equipment in this play area was manufactured and installed to comply with current safety standards applying at the time of installation and all items of equipment are provided with a safer surface where required.
The play equipment and the immediate surrounding areas are inspected on a regular basis. An annual inspection is also carried out by an independent qualified organisation that prepares a safety audit and a report to enable the Council to plan long term maintenance and renewal.
Access to the play area is via a footpath link at the end of Foreland Road at it's junction with Turlin Road.
We encourage the use of all our play facilities by everyone. Please let us know if you have any suggestions on how we could improve this facility for you.
