This playground was improved as part of the first year of the play builder projects - read more about the Playbuilder projects.
New equipment included a Playdale 30 metre cable way, a Tayplay spinning rope cone climber, a hip-hop (a modern spinning see-saw) supplied by Proludic and a Hags-Smp buddy swing. The existing junior and cradle swings and the large climbing frame with slide and money bars were retained. A “kick-about goal has also been installed for football practice and to prevent damage to surrounding garden fences.
Since these improvements the site has become very popular with local children aged between 3 to 14 who now have an exciting and challenging play facility.
The play equipment in this play area was manufactured and installed to comply with current safety standards applying at the time of installation and all items of equipment are provided with a safer surface where required.
The play equipment and the immediate surrounding areas are inspected on a regular basis. An annual inspection is also carried out by an independent qualified organisation that prepares a safety audit and a report to enable the Council to plan long term maintenance and renewal.
This site is served by a good local footpath network with access available from a number of surrounding roads.
We encourage the use of our facilities by everyone, please let us know if you have any suggestions on how we could improve this facility for you.
