Your Borough Of Poole


The National Key Scheme operated by RADAR (Royal Association for Disability Rights) provides access for disabled people to 9,000 locked public toilets around the UK.

Who can apply for them?

The key can be purchased by anyone with a permanent disability. You will need to bring evidence to support this.

Examples of suitable evidence include;

  • Blue Parking Badge
  • A hospital/GP letter
  • Any letter referring to the payment of Disability Living Allowance or other disability benefit

There is also an application form to be filled in, which can be downloaded in advance from this website. Regrettably, we are unable to accept this form by email because it must have a signature. Please print the form, sign it and bring it with you when you make your application.

Where do you need to go? 

Keys can be purchased in person, or by someone on your behalf, at either of the locations below:

  • Main Reception, Civic Centre, Poole, BH15 2RU.

    Cost of key £3.75. Open Monday - Thursday 9am to 5pm, Friday 9am to 4.30pm.
  • Poole Welcome Centre (Tourist Information), Poole Museum, 4 High Street, Poole BH15 1BW. Tel: 01202 262600. Cost of key £3.75. Please call for opening times or visit www.pooletourism.com

If someone is coming on your behalf, they will need to bring your completed form and evidence with them to show that they are acting for you.

Where can you use the keys?

Once purchased the key can be used countrywide, for as long as you require it, wherever the RADAR symbol is displayed. Locations of RADAR toilets can be found on the direct enquiries website.
