Blue Badge Application is currently unavailable. The way blue badges are issued will be changing and a new application will be available from 3rd January 2012.
The Blue Badge Scheme is the new name for the Disabled Parking Scheme and provides a national arrangement of parking concessions for people with severe walking difficulties who travel either as drivers or passengers.
The scheme also applies to registered blind people or those who can drive a motor vehicle regularly, have a sever disability in both arms, and are unable to operate all or some types of parking meter (or would find it very difficult to operate them).
It allows badge holders to park closer to their destination. The national concessions apply only to on-street parking.
