Poole Advocacy Service
We provide an advocacy service for adults, both in the community and in hospital. We work with them to defend their rights and interests, support their wish to be heard, treated with dignity and have their views heard. This is a one-to-one, confidential and independent service for adults who:
- suffer from servere and enduring mental illness
- are under the care of the Community Mental Health Team
- live in the Poole and Bournemouth postal areas
An advocacy worker can:
- help you decide what you want to do
- help you find out information and who to contact
- inform you of your rights
- go with you to significant meetings and appointments
- represent you at reviews, hearings and tribunals, speaking out on your behalf
- ensure that your rights are respected and any discriminatory practices are challenged
