Probation
The Supporting People programme, along with its 5 Year Strategy, is run by the Commissioning Body which includes the following partners - the Borough of Poole, the National Probation Service and the Poole Primary Care Trust.
The National Probation service aims to:
- protect the public
- reduce re-offending
- ensure the proper punishment of offenders in the community
- ensure offenders are aware of the effects of their crime on the victims and the public
rehabilitate offenders.
In Poole, Bournemouth and Dorset the Probation Services works by:
- providing timely, professional advice concerning sentencing and the release of prisoners delivering effective supervision that reduces re-offending and protects the public.
