Adult Social Services Commissioning
We aim to deliver high quality services to promote the health, well-being and independence of those Borough of Poole residents most in need.
We do this by:
- promoting independence and enabling people to live as independently as possible in their own homes
- supporting carers
- protecting the most vulnerable people, who often need to be looked after in residential or nursing homes, and those being cared for at home
- enabling people to be discharged from hospital as speedily and safely as possible.
Who we help:
- older people
- people who look after a relative or friend - carers
- people with dementia
- people with a physical disability
- people with a learning disability
- people with a mental health issue
- people with sight or hearing impairment
- people who misuse drugs and alcohol
- people who are leaving hospital
Everyone has the right to ask us for help and we will endeavour to assist, either by meeting your needs ourselves or by directing you to someone else who can.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has published findings of a recent inspection of adult social services in Poole. An Action Plan has been produced to address the recommendations of the report
